LOGO & TODS Workshop Planned for Henrietta

AUSTIN, TX – June 19, 2008 – LoneStar Logos & Signs, working in partnership with The Texas Department of Transportation, facilitates the sales and maintenance of the LOGO program, the familiar big blue highway signs designated for Gas, Food, and Lodging. In addition they manage the Tourist-Oriented Directional Sign Program (TODS) for the State of Texas. These signs alert traveling motorists to nearby businesses and services and are a cost-effective form of highway advertising.

On July 10th, starting at 2 pm, at Best Western in Henrietta, representatives from LoneStar Logos & Signs will hold an informative workshop. Business owners attending the workshop will learn LOGO and TODS eligibility requirements, location of signs, and benefits of participating in the program.

Austin Wine Festival

Almost all of our staff had a chance to visit the
Austin Wine Festival this past weekend. We sampled some great Texas wine and got to meet some of our TODS participants! We would like to thank Dacota at the Texas Wine and Grape Growers Association for letting us know about the festival.
We will be back next year!

The Sweet Sight of a Sonic

Corsicana, Texas has struck it rich with the opening of a new Sonic at 2937 South Highway 287 and, with it, the unveiling of a new LOGOS sign at Exit 229. Although the Sonic website allows roadtrippers to plan their route based on their locations, the LOGOS sign makes it a little easier for those of us who are hungry and driving through Corsicana to know that a Coney and a Route 44 Slush are only moments away.

Texas Travel Association

The Unity Dinner hosted by the Travel Association was a great networking opportunity. I had a chance to meet people from all across Texas and promote our programs.

I really enjoyed meeting the Mayor of Mesquite, John Monaco. I got to learn about the perks of being a Mayor and was invited to their rodeo in April. I also had a chance to participate in the silent auction. It's like a live version of Ebay. I lost out on a glass bottom boat tour in the final seconds, but won a VIP trip to Dallas in March.

New TODS images

Thanks to our photographer Jacob Tolman for taking some outstanding photos. Since the photoshoot was done in the dead of winter, we had to add some color to the grass. You may have to travel a little more than a mile to find the Lonestar marina.
